Ever year, thousands of Veterans come to the Attig Law Firm looking for help battling the VA – many are wondering what to do at the VA DRO hearing.

Each one of those Veterans processes information in a different way.

Some Veterans just need some basic guidance:  for these Veterans, there is the Veterans Law Blog on the Attig Law Firm website.

Some Veterans like to learn using in-depth explanation of how the VA processes disability compensation Claims: for those Veterans, there is the Veterans VA Claims University.

Some Veterans like to learn by seeing what others are doing.

These Veterans have a basic understanding of the VA Process,  know the core “jargon”, and are able to extrapolate information from another’s experience.  Typically, these Veterans don’t want or need legal advice – they just want to learn more about the technique of a VA Claim

If that’s you, then this Case Study may be a helpful learning tool for you.

VA DRO Case Study #1

In this Case Study, I will share with you an experience – a very common experience – that a Veteran had at the DRO (Decision Review Officer) Hearing.

Here’s how that Veteran’s experience went down.

The Veteran was a Vietnam-era Veteran, and was stationed near the Korean DMZ.  He was exposed to Agent Orange and as a result has Ischemic Heart Disease (and other conditions).

He filed his claims – which were all denied – then filed his Notice of Disagreement (NOD) and requested a Decision Review Officer (DRO) Hearing.

When he got to the hearing, the DRO told him his IHD claim was not on appeal and refused to discuss the claim at all.

This case study focuses on what the Veteran did to “take back the Power in his VA claim”.

In addition to the 25 page case study, you will get as a FREE bonus: complete copies of 3 important Court Decisions: Ingram (2007) , Deshotel (Fed Circuit 2006) and Roebuck (CAVC 2006)
