I learned yesterday that the Texas Court Reporters Association, in conjunction with the State Bar of Texas and the Library of Congress, will be providing an incredible opportunity for our nation’s combat Veterans.
On April 21, 2012, volunteer Court Reporters will record up to a 2 hour oral history of a number of combat Veterans. These recordings will be archived and preserved and made available to historians, researchers, and your family members through the Library of Congress.
The project is known as the Library of Congress Veterans History Project), and was started by Congress in 2000. You can learn more about the project on this website: https://www.loc.gov/vets
The Project is making its first “stop” in Dallas on April 21, 2012 – here are the details:

I would personally like to encourage Veterans in Dallas to participate in this project. Many years ago, my grandfather participated in an oral history project (he was a Court Reporter in the US Senate for 20+ years). I have a copy of the recording and it is very nice to be able to go back and listen to his voice every now and again.
